Home Electrical Repairs

Electrician-fixing-hobb.jpg

House electrical repairs are quite often difficult to handle as there is legislation that can prevent you from doing the work yourself; it comes down to learning what is and isn't allowed. If you are renting, there are other rules that landlords and tenants need to follow with electrical work, especially if you want to stay safe from falling foul of Insurance claims. You really need to know what you are doing when doing electrical repairs it’s really important that you keep safe.

Never do any electrical work unless you are sure you have the skills and knowledge to do the job safely and legally. Accidents, and sometimes fatalities, can occur because people do not know what they are doing. Electrical work can be unsafe and illegal if it’s not done properly.

WorkSafe recommends that if you are in any doubt about doing any electrical work in your home you must use a licensed worker.

Building a new house is an exciting time and when finished bring lots of fun and happy memories. But we have all heard about the nightmares when things don’t go to plan. There’s an old adage “If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail”, and this really true when building a home and getting the electrics right!

Planning the electrical outlets (plugs) placement, types of lighting, kitchen, bathroom, entertainment areas, garage lighting (especially if your a handy person) and don’t forget the outside lighting for those hot summer night parties, doing these right will improve both your lifestyle and increase the value of your newly built property.

What do you need to do to get this right?

The first thing that needs to happen is to find the right Local Electrician (Sparky) that is able to help you with the planning of the electrics, someone that is able to steer you in the correct direction and give good advice on the right placement and functionality, while making sure they are all safe for everyone in the family. It’s important to have a Certified Electrician
